 Marco Guzmán        

 

  • Marco is Aymara of Huarina, Qullasuyu. He is co-founding member of CANO in Toronto. He also is coordinationg Amik Centre, a housing project and Community Centre for the Natives of Toronto, and is the principal instigator of the Wiphala Flag Raising in this city.

 

 

         Soledad Yupha

 

Soledad Yupha is Kichua of the Puruhá Nation, in Chinchaysuyu and one of the main impulsors of the Generational Movement that regroups the First Nations of Tawantinsuyu. She’s also one of the principal promoters of the First Summit of Indigenous Youth that took place in 2002 in Qusqu (Cusco, actual Peru). She’s directing the Tampu Intichurikunapak in Kitu.

Iván Ignacio          

 

Aymara from Alcjaya, Ayllu Huatari, Qullasuyu. Implicated in the First Nations struggle since 1977, he is the former leader of his community and at national level (MCB). Since 1995, participated in various forums, conferences and workshops. Founding member of CANO and National Coordinator. Economist of formation, he is now studying at Laval University, Québec. He produces the radio programs “Voix Autochtones” in Quebec and “Voces Indígenas” in Montreal, and is editor of INTI magazine. Iván also plays traditional andean music with his group Ayni.

    Félix Atencio Gonzalez  

     

    Quechua from Rancas community, Cerro de Pasco, in the actual Peru. Journalist and communicator of profession, implicated with the Natives of the province, Félix lives in the Mi’qmaq community of Listuguj, Québec, Canada. He founded CANO-Montreal and instigated the March of Sikuris and Wiphalas.

    Marcelo Saavedra      

     

    Marcelo Saavedra is Qhishwa-Aymara from Qullasuyu, member of CANO-Ottawa. Specialist Webmaster and Web designer, he impulsed the creation of CANO’s website and work hard on it.
